Kids Day Trout

Brian and I have been taking the kids fishing, and they continue to grow as little anglers.  Now when we hook fish they can fight, land, and even offer a nice pose for pictures before the release...  the only thing Brian and I do is unhook the fish!  Brian's oldest boy even catches his own fish now... by next year I'm not sure if the dad's will even be invited?!

Solo Tricos 7-30-10

I fished a few times between this day and the last post but I need to skip ahead a little and get back on schedule...

This day was weird.  Weather was perfect.  Water was just right.  Bugs were everywhere... but there was no surface activity.  So it goes with late summer Trico fishing... and it was fine with me as I shot macro pics for two hours without stringing up my fly rod.

Western NY w/ Graham 7-19-10

Almost a full month behind!  This season has been crazy, and I'm trying my best to catch up...

Took Graham to a few of my favorite inland locations in Western NY.  We had a great time taking pics and fishing, and even had a nice sunny day!

 Matching the tricos at dawn.

Nice looking brown.

Small brown... wet wading.

Release!

Adirondacks w/ Graham 7-15-10

Headed up to the mountains that are unfortunately so far away from here...

On the drive up...

Finally made it... this is a parking lot in Tupper Lake.

Loon in fog.

Fished Ausable w/ Graham.

He hooked one nice fish on... you guessed it, a stonefly nymph!

Back to Tupper for bass and the sunset.

Until next year...
