'Guiding' Trip 3-20-10

Last weekend my friend Andy and I pooled all our fly gear and took 4 med students fly fishing. We donated the trip as part of a fundraiser for The Lighthouse, which is a free clinic located in Buffalo, NY.

We started on the tribs, and caught lots of suckers.

A fish is a fish, especially if it is your first time!

Moved inland to get the guys into some trout.

Everyone in the group caught fish.

Even Chris...

Beautiful brown trout in low light.

Kids Day Out (Tribs) 3/18/10

Gearing up.

Searching for signs of life.

Casting without the backpack, what a relief.

Stones were out in full force.

Fishing was slow so I did a kick sample for the kids... and me.

Trib/Inland Day 3/7/10

Last Sunday Jessie and I got up early and out to a local trib to try our hand at some steel. The water was still a little low, and after two hours without a hook up we got in the car and headed inland...

The look of trib defeat.

Quick inland redemption.

Still snow?!

The look of inland success.

Nice one of the day.

Central NY Skunking 3/6/10

Before and after the JP Ross Fly Tying Symposium we decided to fish... three and 1/2 fisherman working hard with three and 1/2 different techniques. Nothing. It was beautiful though.
